Maria has been a student of Lama Ole and Hannah Nydahl since 1994. She has traveled with Lama Ole through Europe and Asia and undertaken several pilgrimages to Nepal, Tibet, and India. She holds a PhD in Asian Studies and has recently authored the book Buddhist Hermits in Eastern Tibet (Routledge, 2025). For many years, Maria translated meditation texts and Buddhist articles into her native Polish. She currently serves as an editor of Buddhism Today magazine and lives in Toronto with her husband and her 10-year-old son.
